The Counseling Session

To make an appointment with Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) of Rochester, NY simply call 585-546-3440 (outside of Rochester call toll free 1-888-724-2227). Our Certified Credit Counselors have flexible hours and are able to meet with you in person, by telephone, fax or email. In addition, we have both English and Spanish speaking counselors available. If you have other special needs for counseling services, we will make every effort to accommodate you.

During the counseling session, our counselors will work with you to complete an analysis of your income, expenses, and debt situation. At that time we will make recommendations and determine whether or not a Debt Management Plan (DMP) is right for you.

In order to ensure your counseling session is the best it can be, it is important to have the following information on hand:

• Current statements from your creditors
• Current paycheck or information as to your income
• A good idea of what living expenses you have (rent, utilities, food, etc.)

If you do not have your creditor information on hand, we can make arrangements to have a copy of your credit report pulled so that our counselors can review the information with you.

The Debt Management Plan (DMP)

Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) of Rochester, NY is a recognized leader in the credit counseling industry. As a result, creditors are able to extend special terms to clients experiencing financial difficulties. Through the DMP we are able to work out a plan that fits your financial needs.

The DMP is not a loan, and CCCS of Rochester, NY is not a collection agency. Through the Debt Management Plan, our counselors will help determine a repayment plan that will allow you to become debt-free within 5 years. Through this plan, CCCS can help you establish a payback plan for your debt with no hidden fees.

CCCS will create a Debt Management Plan and ask your creditors for cooperation with the plan. We will ask your creditors to lower interest rates, remove or waive late and over-limit fees, and sometimes reduce payment amounts. We will also ask your creditors to contact us instead of calling you.

CCCS has a small, one time, setup fee and when you successfully complete your Debt Management Plan we will refund the setup fee to you. Once the repayment amount has been determined, you make one payment to CCCS that will cover your payments to your creditors along with a small monthly service fee to CCCS.
