FAQs: Even though I've been on the program for a month, my creditors are still calling me. I thought that the collection calls would stop.
Below are the answers to frequently asked questions from Consumer Credit Counseling Service clients regarding our services. Please review them, your question may have already been answered!
- Q. Even though I've been on the program for a month, my creditors are still calling me. I thought that the collection calls would stop.
- A. In general it may take up to three months before your creditors stop the collection calls. Most of the creditors are large organizations and it takes time for them to update all of the departments about your program. In addition, the creditors usually expect at least three timely and consistent payments from CCCS, for your DMP, before the calls will stop. In addition, the creditors usually expect at least three consecutive payments on your DMP from CCCS before the calls will stop. If you feel the calls are excessive, please call the Customer Service Department at CCCS for assistance.
