Last year was marked with events that significantly challenged our organization. The struggling economy, shake up in the housing market, and volatile stock market have forced the need for our program services like never before.
We anticipate that in 2009, the problems faced by thousands of families across the United States will unfortunately persist. We will continue to do what we do best by working closely with lenders and consumers to find the best solution, and we will focus our efforts in helping distressed homeowners save their home.
Lastly, we will continue to develop and strengthen our established financial literacy programs that have been so successful. We are excited about the opportunity we have to work with school administrators at developing a curriculum for grade school children. Our goal is to develop a model program that will demonstrate proven successful results, by giving children the tools needed to help make successful financial decisions as they grow up.
Most importantly, thanks to you—Our Clients, Board members, and community supporters who made it possible for us to help thousands of families and individuals during these stressful economic times.
In 2009 we remain committed to providing the financial counseling and education services so greatly needed in our communities.
Sincerely, Linda Howland
